these boys turned 4 years old yesterday.

These little guys are such an inspiration to me every single day. The way Keith is always happy and laughing when he has every right to complain, reminds me to always look on the bright side and to be happy, always. There have been times where I've been in a bad mood or sad about something, but the second I see Keith, laughing about something he saw on a show, or showing me how he fights imaginary bad guys, there's no way I can continue being sad. If Keith can be happy, then so can I. I love that little boy so much and I'm so grateful for how much he teaches me.

& then of course, there's Cole. Cole is always checking in on Keith to make sure he is okay and making sure that he never misses out on the fun. He is so gentle with Keith and is such a good brother to him. There has not been a time that I have been with Cole and he hasn't made me laugh. That kid is such a crack up. The rare occasions when he gives me hugs and kisses are my favorite. I love him so much.

sean & me bought our harry potter tickets 3 weeks in advance. the tickets were for the cinetopia theater, in auditorium number 4 at exactly 12:00 am. we were going to get to the theater around 8 and wait patiently for 4 hours for the final movie of the harry potter series.

but then, sean found out that he had football that night from 9:00 pm until 10:30 pm. crazy, i know.

& then, i found out that i had to work from 7:00 pm until 11:00 pm.

& so, instead of getting to the theater 4 hours early, we got there with 15 minutes to spare. we got great seats; the very front row, & the last 2 seats on the end.

even though we didnt get there early & even though we didnt have the best seats, it didnt make any difference. the movie was outstanding. im still trying to grasp the fact that that was the very last harry potter movie. ive been seeing harry potter movies ever since i can remember. it was hard enough when the final book came out, but now the final movie has come out. it really is the end of an era. a very good era.

as i was babysitting today, i saw that on the wall there was a plaque with the words "be grateful. be smart. be clean. be true. be humble. be prayerful." written on it. those words made me think, and they made me ponder. i knew and remembered that a few years ago, the Prophet of my church at the time, Gordon B. Hinckley had come up with those "6 be's" but i really didnt know much more than that. i knew that those "6 be's" were really great words and great advise, but i wanted to know more. so when i got home i looked up those "6 be's" and it led me to find a talk by President Hinckley that he gave on November 12, 2000 at the Conference Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. this talk touched my heart. this talk has so much truth in it. this talk is exactly what i needed to find and read at this time. i was just going to choose a few parts to share, but it is too good to leave anything out. i know this talk is long. i know it will take a while to read. but i feel like its worth it.

this guy went to state this weekend for track.

and his lucky number that day was 4. he got 4th in the 110 meter hurdles and got a new pr of 14.77 seconds :) his 4X4 team also got 4th and got a new pr of of 3:23 minutes :)

i was lucky enough to get a picture with him afterwards. and a hug :)

im very grateful that i was able to come and watch :) he did so well and im so proud of him!

today, sean & i came to my house during lunch and we got to see these three babies. it made my day.

when we came in, i was holding a paper bag from sonic with a chicken wrap for me and a crispy chicken sandwhich for sean. cole saw me and asked, "what are you holding in there?" i told him: "this is me and sean's lunch." he paused and then said, "i want some lunch." & so we walked to the picnic table to enjoy our lunches and cole says, "its too bright, i need some glasses." & so he wore my sunglasses while we ate :)

sometimes my knee gets swollen because during the warm up laps at track practice i slam full speed into a metal bench. no big deal. good thing sean was there to give me a piggy back ride back to safety. might i add that he was indeed jogging with me on his back. impressive, i know :)

that was me and sean's texting conversation while i was riding home from the church. once i got home, i talked to my mom for a few minutes, contemplated getting on the computer, but decided to go downstairs to my room instead. i opened the door, turned on the light and in front of me i see giant letters hanging from my ceiling that said "PROM WITH ME?" i was so confused and surprised and happy. how could this be so? sean is still in the car coming home from california..then i looked over to my right and there sean was holding flowers with a huge smile on his face. after a big hug, he asked, "so will you go to prom with me?" and of course i said yes :)

do you know what happens to you when you've been laying in bed and sleeping all day because you have a sinus infection and then you have to go to the airport to fly on a plane? ill tell you what happens.

you faint while in line for the security check. and after a lot of fuss from the paramedics and the airport security people, you get to be wheeled to your plane on a wheel chair. and then have another wheel chair waiting for you when you arrive at your destination, with your name on it and all.

(this post is a few days late. it was inspired on sunday. sundays when they come over for dinner are my favorite.) usually, when little kids get into my things, it irritates me. but when they do, its adorable and quite acceptable. usually, i dont prefer to babysit for free. but for them, i would pay to be their babysitter. usually when i babysit, i rejoice once the kids are asleep so i can relax. but with them, i may be guilty of waking them up early from their naps a few times just so we could play. usually, i dont like being down on my hands and knees pretending i am a lion. but for them, id pretend to be a lion, or any other animal, all day. usually, i dont like to change diapers or assist in helping a little kid use the potty. but for them, id do it in a heart beat. i love those three babies so much.

yesterday, sean & me went to the blazer game against the chicago bulls with my parents for my mom's birthday coming up.
just as everyone was standing up and removing their hats for the national anthem, i leaned over to sean and said "wouldnt that be so cool if on the rocks sang it? i would be so happy." my sentence was interrupted by the sound of the announcers voice who said, "and now, preforming the national anthem, from the university of oregon, on the rocks!" i could not believe my ears.
& then they were back again for half time.

& jeff sang :)

& we won the game.

& we scored over a hundred points so we all got free chalupa coupons.

& lamarcus aldridge had a new career high of 42 points.

even when she lives a thousand miles away, jenny still does the "hard stuff" for me. a few weeks ago she was trying to explain to me how to login to a certain account on a website so i would be able to see my ACT score once it came. i told her it was too hard and asked if she would just do it for me. jenny, being jenny, was happy to do so. so today at 7:43am while i am in an NHS meeting, i look at my phone and see i have a missed call from jenny. then, right after that i get a text message from her that said "do you wanna know??" i, being me, had completely forgotten that today was the day that i could find out my ACT score. however i immediately called her back, not knowing what i would hear but assuming it would be some sort of college drama that she needed to fill me in about.

"hello?"
"what happened??"
"do you want to know your ACT score?"

thank you jenny, for always doing the hard stuff for me. if only you could have taken the ACT for me too :) haha

i can not believe that you are 23 years old. i still remember when you were 16 and you would stay up late telling me and jenny and emily all about your dates. i remember that day you came home from school and told me about that cute guy "Joseph Rosas" who you had a crush on. i remember march 26th, 2005 when you told me that Joe asked you to be his girlfriend, and how happy you were. i remember october 11th, 2006 when Joe left on his mission. i remember how you went a little bit crazy while he was gone, and how you faithfully waited two years until october 14th, 2008, the day he came home. i remember watching you get all giddy and teary when you saw him walking towards us at the airport as you yelled "Joe!! okay, heres the part where i get sappy. sophomore year [or your senior year], has been quite an adventure, as you know. about a million things have happened throughout the course of this year. tanner left on his mission, you had your last basketball season, i joined track, i chopped off 7 inches of my hair, you chopped of like 9 inches of your hair, we both had special valentines days, the sherwood movie theatre became a second home to us, i finally turned 16, we got brandon roy's autograph, i ate meat for the first time in a year, we saw new moon at midnight, we got stuck at an airport in idaho for like 5 hours, oh and lets not forget the "hangout group". well, the point im trying to make, is that MY sophomore year, and YOUR senior year..seem to be meshed into ONE. we pretty much did everything together this year. you were there when i cut my hair. i was there when you cut your hair. i went to all of your basketball games. you came to all of my track meets. we were both stuck in that dang idaho airport together. we both waited outside the blazer facility for brandon roy. we were both there to see tanner get set apart for his mission. i dont really have a single memory from my sophomore year that doesnt have you in it too. youre my best friend jenny. please dont forget about me at college next year. love you bestie.

i have not been able to put this book down ever since i starting reading it. the story is so intriguing and i find myself reading during every class period at school. some teachers simply ignore the fact that i have my eyes glued to my book rather than paying close attention in class. others however, are not so understanding about the fact that i cant seem to put this book down. the teachers wont need to fret much longer about my lack of interest in class, i will be long finished with the book very soon.

at about 9:45 tonight, i began to take off my makeup, and wash my face. i turned on the shower and it was warming up when jenny tells me that she needs to talk to me about boy troubles and what not. i tell her "okay, ill talk to you after i take a shower." she begins whining and begs me to come up stairs and have a snack with her while we talk. the shower is still running and it was calling my name. i tell jenny to calm down and that ill talk to her after my shower. just then, mom comes down stairs and tells me that she was just about to start some wash and so i would have to wait to take a shower. (we cant take a shower and do wash at the same time because it uses too much water and makes the shower flood lol). jenny looks at me and smirks. we make our way up stairs to the kitchen so we can talk. after we enter the kitchen, jenny says, "one second" and leaves the kitchen. i hear the front door open and assume its dad taking out the garbage. i head over to the door way to see what jenny is doing, and i nearly run into max. what? max? there he is, holding a bouquet of flowers. "will you go to prom with me katie?" :) and i said yes :)

for spring break, jenny and i went to Idaho and stayed with lindsay and joe for the week! my week consisted of:

watching joe's basketball games.
discovering my new favorite tv show, Shear Genius.

on march 19th, i had my first track meet! i threw my javelin 57 feet which is my PR. i dont know much about javelin yet, but i was told that 57 is pretty good for my first meet. im so excited to improve and get better as the season goes on. besides just throwing javelin, Elizabeth, Tanah, Chealsea and myself were on a 4 by 1 relay team together! we participated in The Throwers Relay, also known as "The Big Man Relay". haha we came in second and had so much fun preparing for it and actually doing it. i had so much fun at the track meet!

happy birthday willow! we both know that we've been though A LOT together.. :) and the best way that i could think of to remember all of those good times was to read the poem that you wrote for me for my birthday last year. i absolutely love this poem willow..thank you for everything.
